What To Expect:

You are probably wondering what to expect now that you have decided to take this leap and call for help. An intake session will be scheduled with a clinician who is matched with your specific counseling needs. For new clients that are under 12, we ask that the first session be just parents. This allows the clinician to hear more about the child’s history and background before meeting with them one-on-one. You will be sent the new patient forms via email from a system called Simple Practice. We ask that you fill out all intake forms before your appointment. If you have any questions about accessing the forms or the client portal, feel free to call the office or read through Simple Practice’s Client Portal guides here.

We recommend you come to counseling weekly at least for the first one to two months to gain rapport with your therapist and build trust.

Sessions typically last 45-50 minutes and can be in-person or virtual. Using the Simple Practice mobile app, you can schedule multiple appointments out in advance or schedule week to week in the office with our office administrators. We are ready to start this journey with you and be here every step of the way.

FAQ

Do you take any insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider, so we do not accept any type of insurance. However, as a service to our clients, we will submit claims to see if your insurance will cover a percentage of out-of-network visits. We are not able to tell you if your insurance covers anything, but you can call the number on the back of your card and ask. If they can cover a percentage, you will pay all fees up front and then be reimbursed by your insurance by mail.

**As of 2024, we can no longer submit claims to UMR (payer ID 39026) and clients who carry that insurance will have to submit the claims through their online portal. If you need help or have any questions, please contact the UMR customer service team by calling the toll-free number on your health plan ID card. If you do not have your health plan ID card, call 1-800-826-9781.

What are the fees for testing services?

Below is an outline for each testing evaluation we offer. Fees are subject to change at any time based on testing adjustments needed. Please call the office for testing availability.

Autism Evaluation

A typical autism evaluation includes a diagnostic interview; this is a 1-hour session with parents, the child, and Dr. Turnquist to discuss the child's history.

Then there will be two 2-hour testing sessions with your child and Dr. Turnquist. These sessions will occur in the morning. The sessions will be billed as 3 hours because Dr. Turnquist will need an additional scoring hour after the test.

Lastly, there will be a results session; this is a 2-hour session with parents only to go over all the testing, discuss diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

The fees are $210 per billable hour (total of 9 hours) for a total of $1,890.00. Payment is due at the time of each session; you will not be required to pay the complete cost of the evaluation up front at your first appointment.
